Edinburgh Photobook Club #2 – Sequencing

Gregory Halpern, “ZZYZZX”, MACK, 2016

Second session of the Edinburgh Photobook Club at Patriothall Gallery (Off 48 Hamilton Place, Edinburgh EH3 5AY) on Tuesday March 13 from 6pm to 8:30pm.

The theme will be “Sequencing“ (How a photobook’s sequence of images is structured). To give you an example, Robert Frank organized the sequence of his photobook The Americans around pictures of the American flag (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-01NkUGBO8).

Each participant should bring one photobook that he/she thinks relates to this topic in an interesting and imaginative way.
For the time being, we’ll stick to photobooks by renowned photographers and publishers. We’re planning on doing a session including self-published photobooks.

At the beginning of the second session, we’ll take 10-15 minutes to look through the selection of books. This will allow everyone to have an idea of the content of the books that will be discussed.

Hosts: Alan Eglinton (independent photographer) and Alex Hall (student in photography at ECA)

Free event. Subject to availability.

For inscriptions, RSVP: alaneglinton@gmail.com
